SOFTBALL SPLITS DAY FOUR AT THE SPRING GAMES
Clermont, Fla. (3/12/19) The Dominican College softball team fell to Quincy College in the first game of a doubleheader by a score of 4-2 at THE Spring Games.

Clermont, Fla. (3/12/19) The Dominican College softball team fell to Quincy College in the first game of a doubleheader by a score of 4-2 at THE Spring Games. The Lady Chargers fell to 1-5 overall on the season and Quincy improved to 8-7
DC then bounced back in game two against Bemidji St. by a score of 2-0 to improve their record to 2-5 overall in Clermont, Florida.
Game One: Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) took the mound for the Lady Chargers and pitched seven innings and recorded three strikeouts.
Alex DeVaney took the mound for the Hawks and earned the win to improve her record to 4-2 on the season. Sara Demuth entered the game in relief to earn her first save of the season.
DC recorded five total hits in the game. Shailei Kraft (Waverly, N.Y.) went 1 for 3 in the game and drove in two RBI's late in the game to cut the deficit to 4-2 in the sixth inning.
Morgan Heckman recorded two hits in the win and drove in two RBI's for the Hawks. Kylie Powers and Megan Sharpshair each recorded an RBI in the game to help the Hawks earn the win.
Game Two: DC bounced back in game two and defeated Bemidji St. by a score of 2-0. Madeline Uschock (Greensburg, Pa.) took the mound for the Lady Chargers and earned the win in a seven-inning effort and recorded eight strikeouts. Uschock held the Beavers to only two hits in the game.
After a scoreless four innings, DC took the lead in the top half of the fifth inning. Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Del.) led DC with three hits including a triple, a double and a single while also driving in the first run of the game.
Madison Newman (Phelan, Calif.) drove in the other run in the sixth inning and that was all the Lady Chargers needed to earn the win.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday for another doubleheader at THE Spring Games. Game one will be played at 1:30 PM against Winona State University and game two will begin at 3:45 PM against Auburn Montgomery.
