SOFTBALL EARNS SWEEP ON SENIOR DAY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/14/19) The Dominican College softball team completed a sweep over the University of the Sciences on Senior Day.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/14/19) The Dominican College softball team completed a sweep over the University of the Sciences on Senior Day. The Lady Chargers defeated the Devils in game one by a score of 4-3 and followed it up with a 7-0 victory in game two.
After the sweep, the Lady Chargers improve to 17-16 (11-5 CACC) on the season. The Devils fall to 4-28 (3-15 CACC) on the season.
The Lady Chargers celebrated Senior Day by recognizing their four seniors. GeorgieRose Super (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), Taylor Gilligan (Medford, N.J.), Emily Luzetsky (Bel Air, Md.), and Jennifer Paride (Stonington, Conn.) were all recognized in between games today.
Game One: Jenifer Paride earned the win for the Lady Chargers in 4.1 innings of work and recorded two strikeouts. Shelby Smith (Valley Center, Calif.) entered the game in relief and earned the win in 2.2 innings pitched to earn the save.
DC took the lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Shailei Kraft (Waverly, N.Y.). Madison LePlante gave the Devils the lead in the third inning after a three-run homer.
DC regained the lead in the bottom half of the third inning with a three-run rally which included a two-run homer by Alyssa Seiss (Queens, N.Y.) which tied the game and another RBI single by Shailei Kraft to give the Lady Chargers the lead. DC held onto the lead the rest of the way and secured the victory in game one.
Game Two: The Lady Chargers followed up the game one win with a 7-0 win in game two to complete the sweep. The Lady Chargers took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning after Emily Luzetsky drove in the game's first run.
In the third inning, Luzetsky extended the DC lead to 2-0 with an RBI single. Alexandria Ledgerwood (Salem, Ore.) extended the lead to 3-0 on a bunt single. DC extended to a 6-0 lead in the fourth inning. Super extended the lead to 7-0 after an RBI single in the sixth inning.
Madeline Uschock (Greenburg, Pa.) earned the win in a complete game effort to improve her record to 9-9 on the season.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Tuesday, April 16th when they host the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College. Game one is scheduled for 2:30 PM and game two will follow at 4:30 PM.
