DOMINICAN SPLITS NON-CONFERENCE DH
Clermont, Fla. (3/10/20) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference double-header with Bentley University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in games played today at The Spring Games. Dominican fell in the opener, 12-4, but bounced back against IUPA, 15-7 in six innings.

Clermont, Fla. (3/10/20) The Dominican College softball team split a non-conference double-header with Bentley University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in games played today at The Spring Games. Dominican fell in the opener, 12-4, but bounced back against IUPA, 15-7 in six innings.
Game One: The Falcons struck for eight runs in the top of the second inning, but Dominican got on the board in the bottom of the frame on the run-scoring single to center field from Andrea Hester (Yorba Linda, Calif.).
Bentley tacked on three more runs in the third and the Lady Chargers scored a run in their half of the inning on the bases loaded walk drawn by Bailey Bell (Washington, Pa.).
The Falcons added a run in the fifth, while Dominican scored two more in the bottom of the fifth as Kristen Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) brought home a run on a ground out and Alyssa Siess (Queens, N.Y.) hit an RBI single to center field.
Kyra Wiens (Chilliwack, British Columbia) suffered the loss in one and 2/3 innings of work.
Game Two: Dominican trailed 5-4 after two innings of play when the offense exploded for five runs in the third stanza. Alyssa Schwalb (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) drew a bases loaded walk and two batters later Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) singled home a run, with a second run to follow on the throw. Samantha Fitzgerald (Fishkill, N.Y.) plated two runs on the double to left field to give DC a 9-5 lead.
Four more runs scored in the fifth inning as Andrea Hester (Yorba Linda, Calif.) hit a two-run double to left field and Alexandria Ledgerwood (Salem, Ore.) followed with a run-scoring bunt single. Shortstop Shailei Kraft (Waverly, N.Y.) delivered a two out RBI single to left field to make the score 13-6.
The Lady Chargers added two more runs in the sixth inning as Miscia hit an RBI triple to left field and later scored on a wild pitch to increase the lead to 15-6. A run by the Hawks in the bottom of the sixth made the score 15-7.
Journey Limardo (Anaheim, Calif.) go the win in one and 1/3 innings of relief.
