DC FALLS TO SNHU TO FINISH THE NE-10/CACC CHALLENGE

Manchester, N.H. (11/10/18) The Lady Chargers finished their part of the NE-10/CACC challenge with a loss to Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday. The Lady Chargers dropped to 0-2 overall on the season.
The first quarter was evenly matched with SNHU holding onto a 16-13 lead heading into the second quarter. The Lady Chargers' offense finished the first half strong with a 22-point effort in the second quarter and took a 35-32 lead into halftime.
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) led the Lady Chargers with 10 points in the first half. Sara Deyo led SNHU in scoring with 9 points in the first half. As a team, SNHU pulled down 25 rebounds and DC recorded 15 rebounds.
SNHU bounced back in the third quarter by scoring 24 points to take a lead into the fourth quarter. SNHU followed up the third quarter with a solid fourth quarter by outscoring DC 20-9 to secure the win.
Guerra led all scoring for the game with 22 points scored with three rebounds and three assists. Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) finished with 10 points and 4 rebounds. Alpreshia Parker (Pocono Summit, Pa.) added 12 points and went two for two from three-point range.
Kylie Lorenzen led SNHU with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists for a double-double. Brianna Camara scored 15 points and added 8 points. Sarah Deyo finished the game with 11 points while Karlie Ziliak added 10 points.
As a team, DC finished the game shooting 43.4% from the field and 64.7% from the free throw line. SNHU finished shooting 40.6% as a team and 35.7% from three-point range. SNHU shot 83.3% from the free throw line.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Friday, November 16th when they host Merrimack College for their home opener. The game is slated to start at 5:30 PM and will kick off the 6th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament.
