LADY CHARGERS VICTORIOUS OVER QUEENS COLLEGE KNIGHTS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/20/18) The Dominican College women's basketball team earned their first victory over the 2018-2019 season as they defeated the visiting Knights of Queens College, 58-55, this evening in a non-conference game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win Dominican improves 1-4 overall, while the Knights fall to 1-3 on the season.
The Lady Chargers trailed 31-25 at the intermission but used a 10-4 opening third quarter run to tie the score at 35-all with 6:03 left. A Knight trey with a minute and a half left in the quarter put them ahead 43-40 going into the final 10 minutes.
QC led 47-42 with 6:47 to go when Dominican charged back into the game with nine unanswered points to claim a 51-47 advantage with a little over four minutes to go. With a little over a minute on the clock, junior Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) would score two layups, the last being the game winner with 28 ticks left for the 58-55 lead. The Knights would get a three-point attempt off before the buzzer, but the shot fell shot to give DC the victory.
Gee paced the Lady Chargers with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Senior Ciera Rivera (Pomona, N.Y.) contributed 11 points and four rebounds, while Alpreshia Parker (Pocono Summit, Pa.) netted nine points. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) had a team high three assists.
Dominican returns to action on November 28th as they travel to non-conference opponent, Adelphi University.
