Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/16/19) The Lady Chargers defeated the Clippers of Concordia College by a score of 80-49 to improve to 7-9 (5-3 CACC) on the season. With the loss, Concordia falls to 3-13 (1-6 CACC) on the season.
After the first half, DC held a 26-21 lead over the Clippers at halftime. Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) scored six points and recorded three steals and three rebounds in the opening half. Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) recorded seven rebounds to lead DC.
Saundra Cleckley led the Clippers in the first half with eight points. Cameron Corbett scored six points.
DC outscored the Clippers in the third quarter 23-10 and 31-18 in the fourth quarter to pull away and take full control of the game. DC used a 17-3 run in the quarter to extend the lead.
The Lady Chargers finished the game on a 17-6 run to close out the 80-49 victory.
McClutchy led DC with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Guerra finished the game with 12 points, five rebounds, four steals, and one assist. Alpreshia Parker (Pocono Summit, Pa.) finished the game with 11 points while Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) contributed 10 points.
Cleckley finished the game with 14 points, five rebounds, and four steals for the Clippers. Corbett scored 11 points while Sabrina Clement scored nine points and pulled down a team-leading 14 rebounds.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Wilmington University on Saturday, January 19th for a CACC conference game at 1:00 PM.
