With the win, Dominican improves to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The Lady Charger offense took control of the contest in the first quarter as they outscored their opponents, 26-9 en route to a 50-26 advantage at the intermission. For the contest, DC shot 49.3% (33-67) from the floor, 28.6% (6-21) from the three-point arc and 58.8% (10-17) from the charity stripe.
Sophomores Naabea-Janaan Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) and Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) came off the bench to pace Dominican with 16 points a-piece, with Tomlinson adding seven rebounds.
Guard Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) added 10 points, five assists and two steals. Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) grabbed a game best nine rebounds and had eight points, while Ashley Merritt (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) also scored eight points in the win.
Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) and Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) each scored five points and had six rebounds.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Bloomfield College.
