With the loss, Dominican falls to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in CACC play in their last game of 2019.
A Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) jump shot with 3:17 left in the first quarter gave DC their biggest lead, 14-6, and would later close out the first quarter scoring with a layup to put the Lady Chargers ahead, 16-11.
Freshman Olivia Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) increased the lead to 20-11 in the second frame with a layup as the clock approached the eight minute mark. The Warriors rallied with a quarter-closing 17-5 run to put Nyack ahead 27-25 at the break.
Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) made the score 27-all to open the third quarter and a three-point bucket from senior Ashley Merritt (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) with under seven minutes left re-claimed a 30-29 edge for DC. However, a 7-2 spurt by the Warriors rebuilt a five-point lead (37-32) and they would lead by as many as 10 points (49-59) with 2:06 to play in the fourth quater in bringing home the 66-62 victory.
Junior Kha'yla Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) led Dominican with a season high 18 points (shooting 7-14) from the floor and five assists.
Merritt finished with 10 points, while Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) netted nine points and five boards.
Freshman Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) grabbed a team best eight rebounds and had five assists, while Tomlinson finished with eight points in the loss.
Up next for the Lady Chargers will be a road trip to Assumption College in their final non-conference game of the season. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 pm.
