The Lady Chargers improve to 5-9 (3-2 CACC) after the win, and the Griffins drop to 3-11 (2-3 CACC).
Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) led the way for the Lady Chargers with a double-double by recording 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Lauren Crim led all scorers in the game with 23 points and recorded a team-high seven rebounds for the Griffins.
The Lady Chargers opened the game with a strong first quarter with 21 points and held the Griffins to 13 points. The second quarter was a low scoring quarter with both teams only scoring nine points and DC held a 30-22 lead at halftime.
Both teams played an even third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Griffins cut the Dominican lead to one-point.
The Lady Chargers answered back by extending their lead back to ten points and were able to hold off the Griffins for the win.
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) finished the game with 17 points and added five rebounds while Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) scored 13 points and went three for five from three-point-range for DC. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) recorded 10 rebounds and added eight points.
For the Griffins, Cassie Sebold scored 10 points and recorded five rebounds. Rachael Millan scored six points and recorded six rebounds.
The Lady Chargers will return home on Saturday, January 11th when they host CACC opponent the Wilmington University Wildcats at 1:00 PM.
