LADY CHARGERS WIN THIRD STRAIGHT, HAND HOLY FAMILY FIRST CACC LOSS

The Lady Chargers handed the Tigers their first conference loss of the season as the Tigers entered the game with an 11-0 CACC record. The Tigers fall to 13-6 (11-1 CACC) and the Lady Chargers improve to 11-10 (9-3 CACC).
Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) led the way for DC with 18 points. Tomlinson also added four assists and two rebounds. Ashley Merritt (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished with 15 points and added a team-high seven assists.
Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) provided a boost off the bench with 14 points and three rebounds. Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) added 11 points of the bench as well as two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) finished with seven points and added a team-high eight rebounds.
Holy Family got off to a strong start in the first quarter and held a 16-7 lead over DC to start the second quarter. DC bounced back in the second quarter by outscoring the Tigers 23-13. DC scored the last eight points of the quarter to take a 30-29 lead at halftime.
The Lady Chargers used a 10-1 run to open up the third quarter. The Tigers fought back to cut the DC lead to five points by the start of the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers cut the deficit to four points but the Lady Chargers stayed strong and never lost the lost the lead. DC secured the victory and handed the Tigers their first CACC loss.
For the Tigers, Moe Moore led all scorers with 23 points and added eight rebounds and four assists. Elizabeth Radley finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. Mia Ehling added eight points and five rebounds. Casey Schweitzer added seven points and pulled down four boards.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action of Saturday, February 8th when they travel to University of the Sciences with a CACC match-up with the Devils. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM tip-off.
