The Lady Chargers' win streak comes to an end at three games and fall to 11-11 (9-4 CACC) on the season. USciences improves to 20-3 (13-1 CACC) and earned their 14th straight win.
Ashley Merritt (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished the game with a team-high 12 points for DC. Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) and Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) each scored 11 points. Latimer finished the game with a team-high seven rebounds while Tomlinson recorded six rebounds.
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) added nine points while Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) scored seven points and recorded six rebounds. Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) finished with six points and four rebounds.
DC held a slight edge after the first quarter by using an 11-2 run to finish the quarter. Both teams played an evenly matched second quarter and the Lady Chargers held a 28-23 lead at halftime.
USciences scored 21 points in the third quarter and 23 points in the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, USciences used an 8-0 run to open the quarter and take the lead over DC.
Late in the fourth quarter, Sciences extended to their largest lead of the game which was nine over the Lady Chargers and closed out the victory.
Jordan Vitelli and Irisa Ye combined for 18 points in the fourth quarter for Sciences to help earn the win. Ye and Vitelli combined for 50 points out of 67 for the game.
Irisa Ye finished with a game-high 27 points and also recorded eight boards in the win. Vitelli finished with 23 points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Chargers will look to bounce back when they return home on Wednesday, February 12th to host the Eagles of Post University. The game is scheduled for a 5:30 PM tip-off.
