The Lady Chargers fall to 11-13 (9-6 CACC) after the loss and the Lightning improve to 8-15 (8-7 CACC).
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) led the way for DC with a team-high 22 points and added 10 rebounds to complete a double-double. Naabea-Janaan Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) finished the game with 13 points. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) finished with 10 points and recorded six rebounds.
The Lightning started the game strong with a 27-point first quarter and held the Lady Chargers to eight points.
DC outscored the Lightning in the second quarter 17-12 but still trailed by a score of 39-25 at halftime.
The Lightning extended to a 19-point lead over the Lady Chargers in the third quarter. GBC's largest lead in the game was 20 points and closed out the 81-62 victory over DC.
The Lightning shot 56.4% from the field in the game. Amanda McGrogan scored a team-high 24 points. Sarah Round added 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Alexis Harrison scored 12 points and finished with a team-high seven boards. Nina Bartlette finished with nine points and added six rebounds.
DC will look to bounce back on Tuesday, February 18th when they host the Bears of Bloomfield College at 5:30 PM.
