SPARTANS WIN INAUGURAL BATTLE OF ORANGETOWN
Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/4/18) The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0, this afternoon to take home the trophy in the inaugural Battle of Orangetown Game.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/4/18) The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team defeated the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-0, this afternoon to take home the trophy in the inaugural Battle of Orangetown Game.
With the win, the Spartans improve to 1-1 while Dominican falls to 0-3 on the season.
In the sixth minute the Spartans got on the scoreboard on a shot following the cross from the right side and later added a second score on a breakaway in the 23rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
A penalty kick goal in the 57th minute extended the STAC lead to 3-0.
Freshman Megan Gary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) led the Lady Chargers with three shots, two of which were on-goal. Forward Taylor Calero (New City, N.Y.) had two shots, while five other players recorded a shot.
Keeper Angelica Contreras (Baytown, N.Y.) had eight saves in the loss.
The Lady Charger open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play this coming weekend as they travel to Jefferson.
