GEARY SCORES TWICE TO LEAD LADY CHARGERS OVER SPARTANS

Sparkill, N.Y. (9/18/19) Sophomore forward Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) scored twice today to lead the visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College to a 2-0 victory over the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference game played on Spartan Field.

Sparkill, N.Y. (9/18/19) Sophomore forward Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) scored twice today to lead the visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College to a 2-0 victory over the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference game played on Spartan Field.

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-3 overall.

The game was scoreless until the 60:20 mark when Geary netted her first game goal on a chip shot over the keeper following the pass from freshman Victoria Bonner (Kings Park, N.Y.) for the 1-0 advantage.

Geary scored her sixth goal of the season in the 68th minute of play off the dish from sophomore Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.) to give DC the 2-0 lead and eventual victory.

Junior keeper Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) made five saves in the win.

The Lady Chargers outshot the Spartans, 11-7, and held the 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

DC returns to action on Saturday evening when they host Georgian Court University in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener. Kickoff is slated for 5:15pm at the Orangetown Soccer Complex.
