LADY CHARGERS SHUT OUT HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/8/19) The Dominican College women's tennis team improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 7-0, this afternoon in a match played at Albertus Magnus High School.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/8/19) The Dominican College women's tennis team improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 7-0, this afternoon in a match played at Albertus Magnus High School.
The double team of Paula Gutierrez (Bogota, Columbia) and Isha Mbaye (New Orleans, La.) won their match 6-0 and Nora Frederick (Dover, Del.) and Elizabeth Hixson (Smithfield, Utah) followed with a 6-2 win to take a 1-0 match lead.
Dominican swept all six singles matches for the 7-0 win. Gutierrez won her match: 6-3, 7-5, while Mbaye and Joana Ndunduma (Cedar Hill, Texas) both followed with 6-0, 6-0 victories.
Frederick secured a 6-0, 6-1 win and Hixson won her match by the score of 6-3, 6-1.
A default win in #6 singles gave the Lady Chargers the shut out win.
The Lady Chargers will travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College on Wednesday, September 11th.
