Wilmington, Del. (9/28/19) The Dominican College women's tennis team fell to Wilmington University, 4-3, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at the Delcastle Tennis Center.

With the loss, Dominican falls to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
WU won the doubles point after winning first and second doubles. Second doubles was a tight battle that saw Paula Gutierrez (Bogota, Columbia) and Joana Ndunduma (Cedar Hill, Texas) fall 7-3 in the tiebreak for the 7-6 loss.
Ndunduma forced a third set in third singles after winning the second set, 6-3, but lost in the third set.
Freshman Elizabeth Hixson (Smithfield, Utah) won her singles match by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 to give the Lady Chargers their first point of the match.
Joanna Spano (Orangeburg, N.Y.) and Nora Frederick (Dover Del.) won their single matches by default for the final 4-3 score.
Dominican will take on Goldey-Beacom College tomorrow morning.
