JEAN-PIERRE AND CHEMEDY WIN AT ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE SPRING OPENER
Patchogue, N.Y. (3/24/19) Dominican College women's track runners, Djazmina Jean-Pierre (Spring Valley, N.Y.) and Cheneda Jemedy (Brockton, Mass.) won the 100m and 200m dash events at the St. Joseph's College Spring Opener held yesterday.
Patchogue, N.Y. (3/24/19) Dominican College women's track runners, Djazmina Jean-Pierre (Spring Valley, N.Y.) and Cheneda Jemedy (Brockton, Mass.) won the 100m and 200m dash events at the St. Joseph's College Spring Opener held yesterday.
Jean-Pierre took the top spot in the 100m dash with a time of 13.67. She also competed in the 200m dash where she finished in fifth place with a time of 29.25.
Sophomore Chemedy ran the 200m dash in a time of 28.11 to finish in first place. Chemedy also took part in the 400m dash where she finished in second place with a time of 1:06.99.
Kaitlynn Connor (Warwick, N.Y.) finished in second place in the 5000m run with a time of 21:58.57.
Freshman Desiree Joseph-Jarvis (Livingston, N.J.) competed in the 400m dash where she took fifth place with a time of 1:13.33 and the 100m dash where she finished in 11th place with a time of 30.41.
Jada Hammond (Nyack, N.Y.) finished in sixth place 100m dash with a time of 14.19 and Adji Ndiaye (Bronx, N.Y.) took ninth place with a time of 14.70. Junior Judy Auguste (Westbury. N.Y.) ran a time of 14.95 to finish in 11th place. All three also competed in the 200m dash where Ndiaye took 17th place with a time of 31.91, Auguste finished in 21st place with a time of 33.06 and Hammond ran a time of 33.53 to finish in 22nd place.
Freshman Marissa Murphy (Bethpage, N.Y.) ran in the 400m dash with a time of 1:14.99 to finish in 10th place and Ann McCormack (Pearl River, N.Y.) finished in 12th place with a time of 1:17.26. Both also competed in the 800m run where McCormack took 11th place with a time of 3:06.84 and Murphy finished in 12th place with a time of 3:12.76
Megan Childs (Huntingdon, Pa.) took part in the 1500m run where she finished in 10th place with a time of 6:29.97.
The Lady Chargers are scheduled to travel to the Monmouth Outdoor Season Opener next weekend.
