LADY CHARGERS FALL TO GEORGIAN COURT

Lakewood, N.J. (10/7/17) The Lady Chargers Volleyball team traveled to Georgian Court University for a CACC contest. The Lady Chargers have had a tough year so far but have given every match their best effort. Georgian Court was seeking another win in the conference as they start to play well at the right time in the season. The Lady Chargers were seeking their first win and looking to bounce back after their loss to Concordia Friday night with the quick turn around against Georgian Court.
Early on, Georgian Court beat Dominican by a score of 25-16 and the Lady Chargers were already in a 1-0 hole. Set one seemed pretty even while Dominican had recorded 10 kills (.375 attack percentage) as a team while Georgian Court recorded 11 team kills in the first set. The second set was a closer contest which ended 25-23 in the Lions favor. Dominican started set three down 2-0 and on verge of their 18th loss of the season. The Lions won the final set which ended by a score of 25-17. The Lady Chargers dropped to 0-18 (0-9 CACC) on the season as the Lions improved to 6-12 (6-3 CACC) on the season.
In the loss, Mykalee Chambers (Bronx, NY) led the way with points with nine total in the match to go along with nine kills. Right behind Chambers in points was teammate Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, NY) with eight points in the match as well as six kills. Natalia Perez (Prosper, TX) led the team in digs with 13 and Essence Boyd (Peekskill, NY) added six digs as well and earned a team high in assists with 24.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action this Wednesday October 11th when they host Post University at 7:00 pm for a conference match up.
