LADY CHARGERS TABBED SIXTH IN IN 2018 CACC VOLLEYBALL PRESEASON POLL
New Haven, Conn. (8/9/18) The championship finalists each of the past two seasons -- Caldwell University and Jefferson -- are back in familiar territory in the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll, as both programs are in first place in the North and South Divisions, respectively. The preseason poll was announced on Thursday by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. The Cougars topped the North Division with 92 points (8 1st-place votes), while the Rams led the South with 90 points (8). Voting for the preseason poll was conducted by the league's 14 head coaches in the sport.

The preseason poll was announced on Thursday by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. The Cougars topped the North Division with 92 points (8 1st-place votes), while the Rams led the South with 90 points (8). Caldwell and Jefferson have swapped conference titles in each of the past two seasons. Jefferson downed the Cougars in the 2016 final, while Caldwell returned the favor in the 2017 CACC Championship. Caldwell is led by head coach John Titus, while Jefferson will be under the guidance of first-year head coach Latifa Raheem.
Post University, which won the CACC crown in both 2014 and 2015, ranked second in the North in the preseason poll with 88 points (6 1st-place votes), while Nyack College rounded out the division's top three in third place with 66 points.
Holy Family University and Georgian Court University, which both reached the CACC semifinals in 2017, completed the top three in the South Division with 83 and 67 votes, respectively. The Tigers garnered five first-place votes, while the Lions collected one of their own.
The 2018 CACC Volleyball regular season tips off in just two weeks on Thursday, Aug. 23, with several teams in action getting their new campaigns underway. The season will be a build up to the 2018 CACC Volleyball Championship, which will be staged Nov. 6, 10-11, with the semis and final to be held at the Wellness Center on the campus of Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
