CHARGERS DROP CONFERENCE MATCH TO NYACK

Nyack, N.Y. (10/9/18) The Dominican College women's volleyball team traveled to Nyack College on Tuesday for a conference match with the Warriors. The Warriors swept the Chargers three sets to none.
With the win, Nyack improves their record to 9-11 (8-4 CACC). The Warriors took the first set by a score of 25-8 and followed the strong start to the match with a 25-11 win in the second set. The Warriors secured the win in the third and final set by a score of 25-16. The Chargers fall to 2-18 (2-10 CACC) on the season.
The Warriors jumped out in front early on in the opening set and used a 14-5 run to take the 1-0 lead. The Warriors continued the strong play in the second set and used three separate five-point runs to help them jump out to the 2-0 lead. Dominican played a more evenly matched set in the third set but the Warriors continued their strong play to secure the victory.
Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) led the Chargers with five points and recorded four kills in the loss. Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) scored four points and recorded three kills. Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) led the team in digs with seven. Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) recorded six assists in the loss.
Kyra Zuhlke led the Warriors in points scored with 9.5 and earned seven kills. Rachel Medin scored 8.5 points, four kills, and added 22 assists in the win.
The Chargers will return home on Saturday, October 13th when they host the Cougars of Caldwell University for a CACC match at 12:00 pm.
