Bloomfield, N.J. (10/17/18) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell to Bloomfield College in a CACC conference match three sets to none.
The Bears, 4-20 (3-11 CACC), took the first set by a score a 25-13 for the 1-0 match lead. The Bears followed up the first set victory with a 25-20 win and completed the sweep with a 25-19 win in the third and final set.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 3-19 (3-11 CACC). Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) finished the match with 10 points and 10 kills in the loss. Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) scored 5 points and recorded 4 kills. Sara Hayward (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) led the team in assists with 11 and also contributed 6 digs. Natalia Perez (Prosper, Texas) led the team in digs with 7.
For the Bears, Danielle Quintanar led the way with 13 points and recorded 8 kills. Destiny Kings scored 8.5 points and finished with 7 kills while Ashley Stroot scored 7 points and contributed 5 kills.
Junelly Marrero led the team in digs with 12. Juliette Tygret led the Bears in assists with 27.
The Chargers will travel to Concordia College on Saturday, October 20th for a CACC conference match with the Clippers. The match will begin at 6:00 PM.
