Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/16/19) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell to the Warriors of Nyack College on Wednesday at the Hennessey Center. The Chargers fall to 0-15 (0-9 CACC) on the season and the Warriors improve to 5-10 (4-5 CACC).
The Warriors defeated the Chargers 3-0 in the match. Match one and two both ended with a score of 25-17. The Warriors closed out the match with a 25-12 win in the third set.
Kyra Zuhlke led the way for the Warriors with nine kills. Rachel Medin led the team in assists with 21. Makayla Veracka recorded a team-high nine digs.
For the Chargers, Malia Robinson (Jersey City, N.J.) scored six kills in the match. Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) recorded six kills and seven digs. Jasmine Ramirez-Alfaro (Greenburgh, N.Y.) and Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) also tallied seven digs.
Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) led the team with 12 assists while Sara Hayward (Sloatsburg, N.Y.) contributed nine assists.
The Chargers will look to bounce back when they host Jefferson University on Saturday, October 19th at 12:00 PM.
