CHARGERS DROP SERIES FINALE TO PACE UNIVERSITY

Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/6/22) The Dominican College baseball team dropped the series finale to the Setters of Pace University by a score of 11-4.
The Setters took the four game series three games to one.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 2-6 overall on the season.
The Chargers recorded 11 hits as a team. Bobby Garbuio (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) each finished with two hits. Garbuio also added a solo homer and finished with one RBI.
Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) added an RBI double. William Desapio (Pearl River, N.Y.) and Pavlos Papoutsakis (Westbury, N.Y.) each added one RBI.
The Setters recorded 13 hits as a team. Andrew Primm led the way with three hits and three RBIs. Dean DePreta finished with two doubles and two RBIs.
Josh Miller and Luke Jacobi each added two hits and one RBI. Jacobi added a solo homer and three runs scored.
The Chargers got on the board first in the third inning when Chidsey drove in the first run of the game.
The Setters scored nine unanswered runs to extend to a 9-1 lead over the Chargers. Garbuio ended the run with his solo homer in the seventh inning.
The Setters extended their lead in the eighth inning and the Chargers added two runs in the ninth inning but Pace completed the 11-4 victory.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, March 12th when they travel to Cary, N.C. for a four game series with Saint Anselm College. The first game will be Saturday, March 12th at 1:00 PM.
