CHARGERS FALL TO SAINT ANSELM COLLEGE

The game was played at the Ripken Experience in Cary, N.C.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 2-7 overall on the season.
The Chargers recorded six total hits as a team. Shane Hewlette (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) each finished with two hits. Hewlette added a double and one RBI while Paulino finished with two doubles and drove in two RBIs.
Benjamin Avila (Walden, N.Y.) and Stefano Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) each recorded one hit. Libio also added one RBI and scored two runs.
Tyler Richman (Sunrise, Fla.) added two walks and scored three runs.
For the Hawks, Salvatore Pezzolla finished with three hits including a double and drove in three RBIs.
Mike Borelli, Kyle Maurice, and Ryan Scialabba each recorded two hits. Scialabba and Pezzolla drove in three RBIs each. Maurice added two RBIs while Matt Collins also drove in two RBIs.
The Hawks jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead over the Chargers in the bottom of the first inning. The Chargers used a five-run rally in the third inning to take a 5-4 lead.
The Hawks answered with an eight-run rally in the bottom of the third inning to take a 12-5 lead over DC. The Chargers cut the deficit to 12-7 in the fourth but the Hawks never lost the lead on their way to a 15-8 victory.
The Chargers will look to bounce back when they return to action on Sunday, March 13th for a double header with the Hawks of Saint Anselm College. Game one is scheduled for 12:00 PM and game two will follow at 3:00 PM.
