The Chargers fell short in game one 12-10 and then were edged in game two 7-6.
DC now holds a record of 9-20 (6-5 CACC) on the season.
Game One: The Eagles defeated the Chargers in game one by a score of 12-10. The Charger comeback fell short as the Eagles held on for the game one win.
DC recorded 16 total hits as a team. Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) and Alexander Reyes (Bronx, N.Y.) each finished with three hits in the loss. Paulino added a homer in the seventh inning and finished with three runs scored and two RBIs. Reyes added a double and scored one run.
Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) added two hits including a double and one RBI. Bryant Bassett (Bronx, N.Y.) finished with two hits including a double and two runs scored. Ethan Sarmiento (Warwick, N.Y.) drove in two RBIs. Benjamin Avila (Walden, N.Y.), Bobby Garbuio (Chappaqua, N.Y.), and Shane Hewlette (Deer Park, N.Y.) each drove in one RBI.
The Eagles were led by Jimmy Brennan who hit two homers and drove in six RBIs. Michael Pavelchak drove in two RBIs and scored two runs.
Chas Cywin and Joe Christiana combined for 12 strikeouts on the mound for Post. Cywin recorded the win to improve his record to 1-3.
Both teams traded runs in a back and forth affair between the third and sixth innings. The Eagles extended their largest lead of the game after a five-run inning in the seventh capped off by Jimmy Brennan's second homer of the game.
The Chargers got one run back after Paulino's solo homer. The Chargers then rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning and cut the Post lead to 12-10. The Eagles would hold onto the lead and secure the game one victory.
Game Two: The Eagles completed the sweep with a 7-6 win in game two over DC.
The Eagles jumped out in front in the top of the first inning with four runs for the early 4-0 lead.
DC came back to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning by scoring five runs. A bases loaded walk to Max Chidsey drove in the DC first run and then a passed ball allowed the second run.
Darian Almonte (Orangeburg, N.Y.) doubled to bring in two runs which tied the game and Tyler Richman (Sunrise, Fla.) later gave DC the lead with an RBI single.
Both teams traded runs in the third inning. The Eagles came back to regain the lead with two runs in the fourth inning after an RBI triple by Evan Cornwell and an RBI single by Jordan Glazer.
In the seventh inning, the Chargers threatened and brought the winning run to plate but the Eagles were able to end the game and complete the sweep.
Shane Hewlette finished the game with a team-leading two hits and scored two runs.
Jordan Glazer drove in two runs for the Eagles in game two. Michael Pavelchak added three hits. Matthew Costello recorded the win to improve to 5-0 on the season and earned five strikeouts over 4.2 innings pitched.
The Chargers will look to bounce back on Monday, April 11th when they host Nyack College at 2:00 PM.
