CHARGERS FALL TO THE COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE

Hillburn, N.Y. (3/2/22) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game to the Golden Knights of the College of Saint Rose by a score of 17-6.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 1-1 overall on the season.
Patrick Gifford (Galloway, N.J.) started in goal for the Chargers and made 17 saves but suffered the loss which dropped his record to 1-1. Steffan Peabody (Brookhaven, N.Y.) and John Haas (Staten Island, N.Y.) also played for the Chargers. Peabody recorded three saves and Haas added one save.
The Chargers were led by Terence O'Loughlin (Nanuet, N.Y.) who finished with two goals and two assists. William Gordon (Amityville, N.Y.) added two goals and took a team-high seven shots. Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Eric Greenwood (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) each added one goal.
Cole Vencak (Smithtown, N.Y.) and Kyle Benedetto (Wantagh, N.Y.) each added one assist.
For the Golden Knights, Cam Smith scored a team-leading four goals and added two assists. John Loughlin and Eddie Baker each scored three goals. Gabriel Nish scored two goals and added one assist.
Anthony Barone, Jack Pemrick, Andre Guccia, Nathan Ham, and Brendan Sheedy each scored one goal.
DC scored the first goal of the game, but the Golden Knights scored four unanswered goals to end the first quarter.
St. Rose continued their unanswered goal streak in the second quarter to extend the lead to 8-1 over DC. DC ended the run at the end of the second quarter to cut the deficit to 8-3 by halftime.
St. Rose outscored DC 9-3 in the second half to help secure the 17-6 victory over the Chargers.
The Chargers will look to bounce back on Saturday, March 5th when they travel to Franklin Pierce University at 1:00 PM.
