CARSON'S HAT TRICK HELPS LIFT CHARGERS OVER YELLOW JACKETS

Springfield, Mass. (3/12/22) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team defeated the Yellow Jackets of American International College by a score of 7-5.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 2-3 overall on the season. The Yellow Jackets fall to 1-4 overall.
Patrick Gifford (Galloway, N.J.) started in net for the Chargers and recorded 11 saves which helped record his second win of the season.
Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) scored a hat trick to lead the Chargers in goals and took a team-high seven shots. Angel Rosario (Staten Island, N.Y.) added two goals. Cole Vencak (Smithtown, N.Y.) and James Conklin (Warwick, N.Y.) each scored one goal.
The Chargers' face off man Patrick Roderka (Warwick, N.Y.) won 12 of 15 faceoffs in the game and added nine ground balls.
For AIC, Tyler Shrewsbury scored two goals and added one assist. Jason Vickery finished with one goal and one assist. Hunter Terlik and Seamus Hayes scored one goal each while Sal Amaral recorded one assist.
Troy Schweitzer started in net for the Yellow Jackets and recorded 10 saves but suffered the loss to drop his record to 1-3.
AIC held a 2-1 lead after the opening quarter. The Chargers scored four goals in the second quarter which included three goals by Carson to help give DC the lead by halftime.
In the second half, Rosario scored both goals for the Chargers and DC never lost the lead on their way to the 7-5 victory.
The Chargers will be back in action on Wednesday, March 16th when they travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College for a non-conference with the Spartans. The game is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
