GIFFORD MAKES A CAREER HIGH 19 SAVES IN LOSS TO WILDCATS
Hillburn, N.Y (4/9/22) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to the visiting Wildcats of Wilmington University, 14-4, this evening in a game played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Prior to the start of the contest, the team honored seniors: #4 Daniel Carson (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), #12 Mario Liggeri (Bardonia, N.Y.), #14 Patrick Gifford (Galloway, N.J.), #16 Darien Chismar (Columbus, N.J.), #20 John Haas (Staten Island, N.Y.), #23 Ryan Morris (Galloway, N.J.), #28 Jordan Jones-Rivers (Bronx, N.Y.) and #34 Angel Rosario (Staten Island, N.Y.).
Wilm U led 3-0 when the Chargers got on the scoreboard with Cole Vencak (Smithtown, N.Y.) scoring his first goal off the pass from James Conklin (Warwick, N.Y.).
Conklin netted an unassisted score with 5:15 left in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 6-2 and they went into the break trailing 7-2.
After three quarters of play, the 'Cats led 9-2 and they began the final quarter with three straight goals to increase the lead to 12-2. Conklin scored two consecutive goals with an assist credited to Carson to make the score 12-4 with under five minutes left on the clock. Wilmington closed out the game on a 2-0 run for the final 14-4 win.
Conklin led the team with three goals and one assist.
Keeper Gifford made a career high 19 saves in the loss.
Giovanni Marino led the Wildcats with seven goals.
The Chargers return to action on April 20th when they host Post University in a CACC game to be played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.
