Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/6/22) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team finished a 1-1 tie with the Panthers of Adelphi University.
The Chargers now hold a record of 1-1-2 and the Panthers now stand at 2-0-2 overall.
Dominican keeper David Arteaga (Middlesex, N.J.) made eight saves in the game and five total saves in the second half.
Panthers keeper Daniel De La Heras made two saves in the game.
Jacob Owen (Middlesbrough, England) scored the only goal for the Chargers. Lucas Regos Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) assisted the goal off of a free kick that Owen connected on for the goal.
The score held up until the 69:29 mark when Rodrigo Descalzo Rocca scored an unassisted goal to tie the score which would remain tied for the rest of the game.
The Panthers fired 18 total shots as a team. Descalzo Rocca took a team-high six shots. The Chargers took seven total shots. Jacob Owen took two shots while Maximino Casares Martinez (Valladolid, Spain) also added two shots.
