Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/19/23) Dominican University New York Director of Athletics, Joseph S. Clinton, has announced the appointment of Jordan Collver as the new head men's soccer coach. Collver takes the reigns from Colin Hodge, who resigned last month to pursue another coaching opportunity.
"We are excited for Jordan to join the Charger Community," Clinton said. "He stood out in what was a very strong pool of candidates and we are looking forward to him leading our men's soccer team."
Collver comes to Dominican from Fordham University where he served as an assistant coach for the Rams for the past two years.
"The goals and vision of the Dominican University Athletic Department really resonated with me. I am committed to building on our winning culture by working tirelessly with the players and my staff to develop their skills, instill a strong work ethic, and create a culture of excellence both on and off the field. I think this program has what it takes to compete at the national level and I'm excited to get started working toward that goal," Collver said.
Prior to Fordham, Collver spent three seasons on the coaching staff at Fairleigh Dickinson University. In 2019, the Knights won their ninth Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. As the goalkeeper coach for FDU, he worked with starter Jahmali Waite who was named the NEC Tournament MVP in 2019 and was an All-Conference selection in 2018. Waite was recently called up to the Jamaican National Team.
"I'm honored to have been selected to join Dominican University as their Men's Soccer Head Coach. I'd like to thank Coach Clinton and the search committee for the opportunity. I'd also like to thank Carlo Acquista and Seth Roland from my tenure at Fordham and Fairleigh Dickinson," said Collver.
Collver spent the 2017-2018 season as an assistant coach at Saint Elizabeth University (NCAA Division III).
His career began at his alma mater, the University of Albany, where he was a student manager from 2012-14. Collver graduated from Albany in 2014 with a degree in Sociology.
In addition to coaching, Collver has served as trainer and scout for the NY Red Bulls Academy, while also being the Director of Coaching and Technical Director at the Pompton Lakes Riverdale Soccer Association in New Jersey since 2017.
