Fairfield, Conn. (2/6/24) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to host, Sacred Heart University, this evening in a non-conference match played in the William H Pitt Athletic & Convocation Center.
SHU won in secutive sets by the scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-16.
The win propels the Pioneers to a 3-6 overall record, while the Chargers fall to 2-6 on the season.
Freshman outside hitter Phinehas Wiley (Cedarburg, Wis.) led Dominican with 10 kills, a .240 attack percentage and two block assists.
East Coast Conference (ECC) Setter of the Week, Luke Koster (Geneva, Ill.) recorded 16 assists and seven defensive digs, while Sebastian Rodriguez (Marlboro, N.J.) tallied four kills and three defensive digs.
Tyler Roukey (Hudson, Ohio) had four digs in the loss.
The Chargers return to action on Thursday evening when they host Mount Saint Vincent College in non-conference action in the Hennessy Center.
