WALKER HITS FOUR HOME RUNS AS DOMINICAN TAKES TWO FROM NYACK
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/22/22) The Dominican College softball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from the visiting Warriors of Nyack College in games played today. Dominican won the opener, 12-8 and took the night cap, 10-3.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/22/22) The Dominican College softball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from the visiting Warriors of Nyack College in games played today. Dominican won the opener, 12-8 and took the night cap, 10-3.
Following the wins, Dominican now stands at 14-16 overall and 9-7 in the CACC.
Game One: The Lady Chargers scored three runs in their first at-bat as first basemen Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) hit a three-run home run over the centerfield fence for a 3-0 advantage.
Nyack would score a run in the second and two more in the top of the third to tie the score, 3-3, but DC countered with four runs in their half of the inning with Walker recording an RBI single through the left side and Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.) hitting a three-run double to right center field to re-take a 7-3 lead.
Walker added to the lead in the fourth as she hit her second home run of the contest, this one a blast to left center field to plate three runs and extend the lead to 10-3.
The Warriors got two runs back in the fifth and Dominican tacked on two more runs in the sixth with Walker recording her third home run of the game to make the score 12-5.
NC scored three runs in the top of the secenth for the final 12-8 win.
Walker went 4-4 (three home runs) with three runs scored and a career high nine RBI in the game. Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) had two hits in the win.
Reliefer Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.) picked up the win in four innings of relief.
Game Two: Nyack scored in the top of the first on a solo home run, but DC answered once again in the bottom of the inning as Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Ridge delivered run-scoring hits for a 2-1 advantage.
Two more runs scored in the third as O'Reilly and Ridge hit back-to-back RBI doubles and Dominican added four more runs in the fourth as Miscia doubled home a run and Walker followed with her fourth home run of the day, this one a three-run shot to right field for the 8-1 lead.
Nyack scored two runs in the top of the fifth to make the score 8-3 and Ridge brought home two more runs on a home run to left center field for the 10-3 lead and eventual win.
Freshman Paige Sasser (Brentwood, Calif.) picked up the complete game victory.
Ridge and Miscia each had three hits with Ridge collecting four RBI.
Dominican hit five home runs on the day.
The Lady Chargers return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Thomas Jefferson University.
