RAMS TAKE TWO FROM SOFTBALL ON SENIOR DAY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/23/22) It was Senior Day on Saturday for the Lady Chargers. In between games one and two, DC’s four seniors were recognized.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/23/22) It was Senior Day on Saturday for the Lady Chargers. In between games one and two, DC's four seniors were recognized. Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Madison Newman (Phelan, Calif.), Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.), and Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Del.) were all honored before the start of game two.
The Lady Chargers fell to the Rams of Jefferson University in both games of a conference doubleheader. The Rams took game one by a score of 5-3 and then followed with a 4-2 win in game two.
The Lady Chargers fall to 14-18 (9-9 CACC) on the season.
Game One: The Rams took game one by a score of 5-3. Gianna DeLorenzo earned the win to improve to 8-10 on the season. DeLorenzo recorded eight strikeouts in the win.
The Rams finished with seven hits as a team led by Sam Gomez who went 3-4 and drove in three RBIs. Victoria Juckniewitz added two hits and one RBI. Sage Bolonski also added an RBI.
For the Lady Chargers, Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) and Toni-Jo Lopez (Sylmar, Calif.) each hit solo homers. Rebecca Haggerty (Grafton, Mass.) added two hits. Kristin Miscia went 1-3 and added a stolen base. Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) added a double.
Each team scored one run in the first inning and the Rams jumped ahead in the fourth inning after an RBI-single by Juckniewitz.
Lopez's homer tied the game and DC later took a 3-2 lead and held the lead until the seventh inning.
The Rams rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning highlighted by a two-RBI single by Gomez and Sage Bolonski walked with the bases loaded for the insurance run and the Rams would complete the victory in game one.
Game Two: The Rams completed the sweep in game two with a 4-2 win.
Sam Gomez went 2-4 with a double and one RBI. Sage Bolonski and Julia Heine each drove in one RBI.
Jenna O'Reilly led the way for the Lady Chargers by finishing 2-3 with a homer and a double. Kristin Miscia and Madison Walker each added one hit.
Rebecca Haggerty added one RBI on a sacrifice bunt in the first inning which tied the game 1-1.
O'Reilly's homer in the third inning gave DC the lead. The Rams rallied in the top of the fourth inning by scoring three runs to take back the lead. The rally was capped off by an RBI-double by Sam Gomez.
The score would remain 4-2 in favor of the Rams who secured the sweep.
The Lady Chargers will look to bounce back when they travel to Holy Family University on Sunday, April 24th for a CACC doubleheader with the Tigers. Game one is scheduled for 12:00 PM and game two will follow at 2:00 PM.
