LADY CHARGERS SPLIT WITH BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/26/22) The Dominican College softball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with the visiting Bears of Bloomfield College in games played this afternoon. DC took the opener, 2-0, while the Bears took home a 7-6 victory in the nightcap.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/26/22) The Dominican College softball team split a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header with the visiting Bears of Bloomfield College in games played this afternoon. DC took the opener, 2-0, while the Bears took home a 7-6 victory in the nightcap.
Following the games, Dominican now stands at 15-21 overall and 10-2 in conference play.
Game One: The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third inning when the DC offense struck for two runs on two hits. Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) hit an RBI triple and then scored on a Bloomfield error.
Kyra Wiens (Chilliwack, British Columbia) picked up the complete game victory.
Game Two: Bloomfield held a 3-0 advantage after two innings of play, but the Lady Chargers got on the scoreboard in the third as Toni Jo Lopez (Sylmar, Calif.) scored on a passed ball and first basemen Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) delivered a two out solo home run to make the score 3-2.
The Bears scored runs in the fourth and sixth innings to rebuild a 7-2 when Dominican countered with a run in the sixth on the RBI single by Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.). In their final at-bat, DC scored three runs on a wild pitch, an RBI sacrifice fly ball by Madison Navarrete (Calimesa, Calif.) and a run-scoring single off the bat of Elizabeth Tolkan (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) for the final 7-6 loss.
Tolkan and Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.) had two hits each.
Starter Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.) suffered the complete game loss.
The Lady Chargers return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host the College of Saint Rose.
