SOFTBALL ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH SWEEP OF GOLDEN FALCONS
Wood-Ridge, N.J. (4/30/22) The Dominican College softball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from host, Felician University, 10-5 and 5-3/9 innings, in games played tonight at the Wood-Ridge Athletic Complex.

Wood-Ridge, N.J. (4/30/22) The Dominican College softball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from host, Felician University, 10-5 and 5-3/9 innings, in games played tonight at the Wood-Ridge Athletic Complex.
With the win Dominican improves to 19-22 overall and 12-12 in the CACC.
Game One: The Lady Chargers trailed 5-3 after four innings of play when the team scored four runs in their half of the fifth to go up 7-5. The first run came home on a throwing error and the second scored on the single up-the-middle off the bat of Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.). Emma Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) delivered a two-run single down the left field line for the lead.
DC added a run in the sixth on the sacrifice fly ball and tacked on two more in the seventh on the home run to right field by Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.) for the 10-5 win.
Five different players had two hits in the win.
Reliever Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.) collected the win, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and six strikeouts.
Game Two: The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth when DC struck for two runs as Toni-Jo Lopez (Sylmar, Calif.) and Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) hit back-to-back RBI singles for the 2-0 lead.
Felician tied the game with a two-run home run in the sixth and force extra innings.
Back-to-back home runs off the bats of Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Madison Walker (Southampton, N.J.) scored three runs and gave DC the 5-2 lead. The Golden Falcons scored a run in the bottom half of the inning for the 5-3 win.
O'Reilly, Miscia, Redmond Ridge and Kaszovitz collected two hits a-piece in the win.
Carbonara picked up the win in three innings of relieft.
Up next for the Lady Chargers is the CACC Championship Tournament slated to begin on May 4th.
