FOUR SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN CACC ALL-ACADEMIC ACCOLADES
New Haven, Conn. (6/9/22) Eighty-six (86) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 86 honorees represent all 13 CACC member institutions that have a varsity program in the sport.
MEMBERS ON 2022 CACC SOFTBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
New Haven, Conn. (6/9/22) Eighty-six (86) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 86 honorees represent all 13 CACC member institutions that have a varsity program in the sport.
Fifteen (15) Post University and 14 University of the Sciences standouts were named to the All-Academic squad, which were the first and second highest marks in the conference. Emily Tarko led Post with a 4.0 grade point average, while USciences' top mark was Gianna Abruzese's 3.92.
Dominican University New York had four players named to the team this year. Madison Newman (Phelan, Calif.) makes her third appearance on the team, while Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Del.) and Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) earned their second all-academic accolades. Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.) makes her first appearance on the team.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
♦ Nine of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ Thirty-five (35) of the honorees made the CACC Softball All-Academic Team for the second time.
♦ Fourteen (14) of the honorees made the All-Academic squad for the third time.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
