WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS SHORT AGAINST POST UNIVERSITY

Waterbury, Conn. (2/22/23) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team fell in conference action to the Eagles of Post University by a score of 74-68.
With the loss, the Lady Chargers fall to 17-10 overall and 12-5 in conference play. The Eagles improve to 18-9 overall and 13-4 in conference play.
Dominican was led by Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who finished with a season high in points with 19 and contributed seven boards and three assists. Ndukauba finished the game 8-12 from the field. Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished with 16 points while Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) added 14 points.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) finished with 13 points, five boards, and four assists while Olivia Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) recorded a team-high nine rebounds and four assists.
The Eagles got off to a quick start on a 9-2 run to begin the first quarter. Post extended to an 11-point lead over Dominican and held a 26-17 lead by the start of the second quarter.
Post extended to their largest lead of the game in the second quarter which was 14 points and held a 45-34 lead by halftime.
The Lady Chargers used a 9-0 run in the third quarter to cut the deficit to five points but Post used an 8-2 run to extend the lead. The Lady Chargers fought their way back to tie the game by using an 11-2 run.
The Eagles regained the lead and remained in front the rest of the way to secure the 74-68 win.
Post was led by Taina Pagan who finished with 15 points and nine boards. Sha'Raya Haines and Tyree Allen who each added 14 points and nine rebounds. Kiara Eubanks also added 14 points as well as five rebounds and three assists.
The Lady Chargers will return to action on Saturday on the road for the regular season finale against Alliance University at 1:00 PM.
