WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CONCLUDE REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS TO FELICIAN
Rutherford, N.J. (2/28/24) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team closed out the regular season tonight with a 71-67 loss to Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played in Job Gymnasium.

Dominican opened the contest with the first nine points, ended with a three-point shot from CACC Player of the Week, Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) for the early 9-0 advantage. The Golden Falcons countered with an 11-0 closing period run to jump ahead, 11-9.
A 7-2 run to start the second period saw the Lady Chargers regain the 15-14 edge, but Felician used a 6-0 spurt to take a 28-25 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
The Lady Chargers outscored their counterparts in the third frame, 21-14, including the final nine points of the quarter to re-take a 46-42 lead.
Felician used a 7-0 run to start the final quarter to gain the lead for good en route to the 71-67 win.
Howard led to Lady Chargers in double-figures with 26 points and completed the double-double with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Guard Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) added 12 points, while Keylee Harrison (Newport News, Va.) added nine points.
Tamia Nunes (Worcester, Mass) finished with eight points and Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pulled down five caroms in the loss.
Next up for the Lady Chargers is the CACC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament where they opponent will be determined following the official conclusion of the regular season this Saturday.
