LADY CHARGERS COMPLETE PLAY AT MOUNT SHOOTOUT
Mount Joy, Pa. (2/12/24) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team wrapped up at the 6th Annual Mount Shootout this weekend hosted by Mount Saint Mary's University.
The Lady Chargers opened the weekend on Friday where they went 0-5 in the Baker round against North Carolina A&T State, Alvernia University, Lincoln Memorial University, Coppin State University, and Kutztown University.
On day two, Dominican posted team scores of 707-710-715-658-725 in the traditional round. The Lady Chargers faced schools Howard University, Norfolk State University, host school Mount Saint Mary's University, Chestnut Hill College, and Bryan University.
Dominican entered the third and final day in 16th place for the tournament bracket.
In the three best 4 of 7 matches on day three, the Lady Chargers faced Coppin State University in the first and third matchup and met host Mount Saint Mary's in the middle match.
In the first round against Coppin State, the Lady Chargers opened with two victories in the best of 7 but fell in four straight games and dropped the bracket opener 4-2.
Dominican met Mount Saint Mary's University in the second round where they fell 4-0 and then fell to Coppin State in the position round 4-0.
Host Mount Saint Mary's University was crowned tournament champions.
In the individual standings, Natalie Christopher (Oakland, N.J.) was the high finisher for Dominican with a sum average of 180.20 for 47th place overall. Christopher finished with a total pinfall of 901 which included a team-high score of 212 in game two of the traditional matches.
Briana Sinnott (Upper Nyack, N.Y.) posted an 847 total pinfall, her high game at a 201 and an average of 169.40 for 58th place.
The Lady Chargers return to action next weekend for the Wildcat DII Invitational at Bowlerama in New Castle, Del. hosted by Wilmington University.
