WOMEN'S LACROSSE OPENS 2022 SEASON WITH WIN OVER KNIGHTS
Newburgh, N.Y. (2/27/22) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team opened up the 2022 season with a 17-2 victory over Mount Saint Mary's College in a game played this afternoon on Kaplan Field.

Dominican improves to 1-0 on the season, while the Knights fall to 1-1.
Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and Josie Lettieri (Deer Park, N.Y.) led the way for the Lady Chargers with three goals and two ground balls a-piece.
Attacker Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) scored two goals and had a team best three ground balls, while Sarah Smith (Slate Hill, N.Y.), Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) and Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) recorded two goals each in the win.
Sydney Strohymayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.) netted the other Lady Charger goal and Tomasetti also picked up two ground balls.
Keeper Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) picked up the win in 41 minutes played, while Rebecca Nutting (Marcellus, N.Y.) made two saves.
DC controlled the offensive side of the game as they led their opponents in shots, groundballs and draw controls.
The Lady Chargers scored the first 12 goals of the contest en route to the win.
Up next for the Lady Chargers is a non-conference road game at the College of Saint Rose this coming Wednesday at 2pm.
