LIONS HAND LADY CHARGERS FIRST CONFERENCE LOSS OF THE SEASON

With the loss, the Lady Chargers fall to 10-3 (5-1 CACC). The Lions improved to 7-7 (6-0 CACC) after the win.
DC was led by Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) who each scored a team-high four goals. DeStasio also recorded three assists and took a team-high 10 shots.
Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) added a hat trick with three goals on four shots. Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.Y.) scored two goals while Sarah Smith (Slate Hill, N.Y.) and Sydney Strohmayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.) each scored one goal.
Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) started in goal for DC but suffered the loss to drop her season record to 9-3. Kaszovitz recorded eight saves in the game.
The Lady Chargers got off to a fast start by scoring the first three goals of the game. GCU got on the board but DC held a 5-3 lead at the start of the second quarter.
The Lions went on a seven-goal run to end the first half and scored eight total goals in the second quarter to take an 11-6 lead by halftime.
The Lions held the lead through the rest of the game by adding four goals in the third quarter and five goals in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Chargers cut the deficit in the fourth quarter after falling behind 19-11. DC scored four of the last five goals of the game but fell short 20-15.
Riley O'Connor led the way for the Lions with six goals on eight shots and added one assist. Sabrina Chandler finished with four goals. Jade Rivera and Kasha Elzinga each scored two goals.
Heather Devaney and Shaine Sauter each scored two goals and recorded two assists. Isabel Raimondi and Alyssa Wahl each scored one goal and added two assists.
Alexis Hahn recorded the win in goal for GCU and made seven saves to improve to 7-7 on the season.
The Lady Chargers will look to bounce back on Wednesday, April 13th when they return home to host the Eagles of Post University. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
