LADY CHARGERS FINISH REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS TO RAMS
Hillburn, N.Y. (4/23/22) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team concluded the 2022 regular season tonight with a loss to the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University, 16-10, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at the Torne Valley Complex.

The Lady Chargers end the regular season with an overall record of 12-4 and a CACC mark of 7-2. The team has qualified for the upcoming CACC Women's Lacrosse Championships Tournament and will be the third seed in the six team tournament. DC will host #6 Post University on Tuesday, April 26th at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.
Dominican opened the game with the first goal as Sarah Smith (Slate Hill, N.Y.) found the back of the net off the pass from Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) just one minute and thirty seconds into the contest. TJU tied the game less than a minute later, but DC regained the 2-1 edge at the 10:23 mark when Sydney Strohmayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.) scored a goal off the pass from Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.).
The Rams would close out the first quarter on a 2-0 run and would outscore Dominican 6-1 in the second quarter to build up a 9-3 lead. In the second quarter, Ortiz recorded a goal following the pass from Strohmayer.
In the third quarter, both teams would record two goals with Ortiz netting both for the Lady Chargers, one coming off the dish from Smith to make the score 11-5.
Dominican would score five goals in the final 15 minutes with Costello scoring a goal, while Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) and Ortiz each had two goals in the quarter. Assists went to Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) and Costello.
Ortiz netted a career high five goals and one assist in the loss.
Freshman Tomasetti had two goals, while Costello, Smith and Strohmayer all had a goal. Costello led the way with two assists.
Goalkeeper Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) made a career high 18 saves.
