New Haven, Conn. (9/6/22) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team fell in non-conference action to host Southern Connecticut State University, 3-0 (22-25, 20-25, 24-26), this evening in a match played in Pelz Gym.

Following the loss the Chargers now stand at 1-5 overall.
Freshman outside hitter Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) recorded a team best 10 kills, a .304 attack percentage and six digs in the loss.
Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) tallied eight kills, while Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had 15 digs.
Setter Alessandra Pantoja (Lewisville, Texas) dished out a team best 23 assists.
In the third set, the Chargers began with a 4-0 advantage and would later use a service ace from Zoe Clifford (Suffern, N.Y.) to pull ahead 14-10. SCSU would rally and with the set being tied at 24-all, the Owls closed out the win with back-to-back points.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow night when they travel to Alliance University.
