DOMINICAN DEFEATS ALLIANCE UNIVERSITY FOR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN

The Chargers improved to 2-5 (1-0 CACC) after the win. Alliance falls to 0-8 (0-1 CACC) on the season.
Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) finished with 18.5 points and 16 kills which were team-highs. Carr also added 14 digs. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) added a team-high 25 digs. Alessandra Pantoja (Lewisville, Texas) finished with a match high 26 assists and also added 10 digs.
Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) added eight points, three kills, and two digs.
The Chargers opened the match with a 25-18 win in the first set. The Chargers used an 8-0 run to help them secure the 1-0 match lead. Dominican used a 16-7 run in the second set on their way to a 25-15 victory for the 2-0 lead.
In the third set, both teams battled and went back and forth. The largest lead between both teams was three points through the entire set.
Back to back kills by Carr and Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) finished off the 29-27 win in the third set which solidified 3-0 sweep for the Chargers.
Dominican returns to action this Saturday, September 10th when they return home to host non-conference opponent Franklin Pierce University at 1:00 PM.
