VOLLEYBALL TAKES DOWN BRIDGEPORT FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN
Bridgeport, Conn. (9/15/22) The Dominican University New York women’s volleyball team defeated the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport for their fourth straight victory.

The Chargers improved to 5-5 (3-0 CACC) on the season after the win. Bridgeport falls to 2-9 (1-2 CACC).
Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) led the way for Dominican with 18 kills, 16 digs, and 23 points. Carr also added five service aces. Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) finished with 14.5 points and 11 kills. Abigail Thompson (Aledo, Texas) contributed 12 digs while Alessandra Pantoja (Lewisville, Texas) recorded a team-high 34 assists.
Lindley McCutcheon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) added 7.5 points, six kills, and eight digs. Savannah Tody (Minneapolis, Minn.) finished the match with five points and six block assists.
The Chargers dropped the first set 25-13 giving the Purple Knights a 1-0 match lead. The Chargers answered back to win the next three straight sets to solidify their fourth win in a row.
Dominican outlasted Bridgeport in the second set and tied the match after a 25-23 victory. The Chargers took a 2-1 match lead after a 25-21 win in the third set. The Chargers used an 8-0 run to take an 18-11 lead over the Purple Knights in the fourth set.
Bridgeport fought their way back using a 10-3 run to tie the Chargers at 21-21. Dominican never gave up the lead and finished off the Purple Knights by a score of 25-23 and secured the 3-1 match win.
For Bridgeport, Marissa Mullins led the way with 16 kills and 18.5 points. Paola Hernandez added 16 points, 14 kills, and seven digs. Jaden Drollinger recorded a match-high in assists with 45.
The Chargers will be back in action this Saturday, September 17th when they return home to host CACC rival Bloomfield College at 12:00 PM.
