COUGARS RALLY TO DEFEAT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/19/22) The Caldwell University women's volleyball team rallied from an 0-2 deficit to defeat, host, Dominican University New York, 3-2, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/19/22) The Caldwell University women's volleyball team rallied from an 0-2 deficit to defeat, host, Dominican University New York, 3-2, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
The Chargers won the first two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-23 for the 2-0 match advantage. Caldwell won the third and fourth sets, 25-17 and 25-22 to force the decisive fifth set. The Cougars edged Dominican 16-14 in the final set for the 3-2 win.
With the loss, Dominican now stands at 9-13 overall and 7-6 in the CACC.
The first set proved to be the best for Dominican as they tallied 16 kills and only four errors for a .353 attack percentage.
Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) had a team leading 17 kills and eight digs.
Senior Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) tallied 10 kills, 16 digs and four block assists, while Savannah Tody (Minneapolis, Minn.) recorded 10 kills.
Setter Alessandra Pantoja (Lewisville, Texas) had a match leading 49 assists and 12 digs, while libero Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had a team best 23 assists.
Abigail Thompson (Aledo, Texas) tallied 11 digs in the loss.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Holy Family University. Match time is slated for 12pm on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
