WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FINISHES 2022 REGULAR SEASON WITH A LOSS TO THE RAMS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/4/22) The Dominican University New York women’s volleyball team wrapped up the 2022 regular season with a conference loss to the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University by a score of 3-1.

The Chargers finish the 2022 regular season with a record of 11-16 overall and 9-9 in conference play. The Rams improved to 21-6 overall and 15-2 in the CACC.
The Rams jumped out to a 2-0 match lead with a 25-9 win in the opening set and a 25-13 win in the second set.
Jefferson got off to a fast start by going on a 9-2 run and later closed the opening set on a 10-4 run for the 1-0 lead. The Rams led most of the second set and used a 15-6 run to take the 2-0 match lead.
The Chargers bounced back in the third set with a 25-20 victory to get on the board. Dominican jumped out in front early and never gave up the lead. The Chargers scored the last four points to secure the third set.
The Chargers battled in the fourth set but fell 25-23 and the Rams secured the 3-1 match victory.
Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) and Elizabeth Perez (Miami, Fla.) combined for 22 kills. LaPier also added 14 points and nine digs while Perez added 10 points and eight digs.
Alessandra Pantoja (Lewisville, Texas) finished the match with a team-high 17 assists while Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added 10 assists. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) added a team-high 11 digs.
The Rams were led by Jess Molen who recorded 17 kills, eight digs, and 23.5 points. Morgan Ritchie finished with 11 kills, 11 digs, and 12 points. Sam Mann contributed 13 points, 10 kills, and six block assists.
Cameron Johnson finished with a team-high 13 digs while Victoria Hamby led the Rams in assists with 39.
Prior to tonight's match, the Chargers celebrated senior day. Seniors Lily Ainsworth, Emmalyn LaPier, Zoe Clifford (Suffern, N.Y.), and Taylor Baker (North Babylon, N.Y.) were all recognized during a pregame ceremony.
Next up for Dominican is the 2022 CACC Volleyball Championships Quarterfinals this Monday November 7th. The time of the match and opponent to be announced.
