PENG, BOETTCHER, AND MCCUTCHEON NAMED TO 2023 CACC VOLLEYBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, Conn. (12/14/23) Fifty-three (53) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. All 12 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
Three Dominican University New York women's volleyball players were named to the 2023 CACC Volleyball All-Academic Team. Linda Armao Peng, Alexis Boettcher, and Lindley McCutcheon are each two-time honorees.
Thomas Jefferson University led the way with eight honorees on the team, while Wilmington University was next with seven student-athletes making the squad. Both of those programs produced outstanding results in the classroom, while also advancing far into the postseason in 2023, as the Wildcats reached the CACC semifinals, while Jefferson made its third-consecutive appearance in the conference championship final.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Five student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages (University of Bridgeport's Lucia Tomiello, Caldwell University's Wyette Schubert-Brown, Felician University's Miquela Martinez, Goldey-Beacom College's Megan Chesser and Holy Family University's Shelby Kinzer).
♦ Eighteen (18) student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
♦ Two student-athletes were placed on the academic team for the fourth time in their respective careers (Martinez and WilmU's Elly Collins).
♦ Seven were named to the CACC Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers.
♦ Eighteen (18) were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
♦ The eight teams to qualify for the CACC post-season tournament combined to have 32 honorees make the all-academic team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.
