Bio

Coach Bloom joined the Dominican Women’s Volleyball team as an assistant coach in 2022. In his role he has taken over responsibilities for defense and serve receive as well as opponent scout reports and data analytics. In his first season the team had its best season in digs and service errors per set in the last 10 years.

Bloom is also working as a head coach at Garden State Elite Volleyball Club (GSEVC) for their 15 Black team. Prior to working at Dominican and GSEVC Shai was a volunteer assistant coach at Felician University for one season and head coach of the Millburn High School’s boys junior varsity team.

After graduating from George Washington University in 2022 with an honors degree in economics, Bloom immediately joined the program. While in college he was a practice player for the women’s D1 team and started for the men’s club team at Libero. His experience with division 1 athletics has strongly informed the way he supports the team and the vision he shares for the program.
