LADY CHARGERS DOWN FELICIAN UNIVERSITY FOR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN OF THE SEASON

The Lady Chargers defeated the Golden Falcons 81-62 to bring their overall record to 4-4 and 1-0 in the CACC.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) led the way for Dominican with 24 points and added four assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Mills scored 19 of her 24 points in the first half.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) finished the game with 15 points, four assists, and a team-high five steals. Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) added 13 points while Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) finished with 10 points.
Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) provided a double-double off the bench with 12 points and a team-high 13 boards. Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) added 11 rebounds and five points.
The Lady Chargers added 18 fastbreak points in the win. Dominican capitalized by scoring 24 points off of 26 Felician turnovers.
The Lady Chargers got off to a strong start by scoring 23 points in the first quarter. Dominican extended their lead to double digits in the second quarter but Felician closed out the first half on a 16-5 run. Dominican held a 38-34 lead by halftime.
The Golden Falcons took the lead early in the third quarter but the Lady Chargers responded with a 20-6 run to end the third quarter.
Dominican extended out to their largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter which was 19 points and secured their first conference win of the season.
Felician was led by Briana Lee who scored 25 points and recorded 18 rebounds for a double-double. Uzor Uchidiuno finished with eight points and seven rebounds while Natalie Chappotin also added seven rebounds. Natalia Lucic finished with 10 points.
Dominican returns home this Saturday to host the Eagles of Post University at 1:00 PM.
